Edmonton Kenworth Ltd. is looking for a Credit Manager for our West end Branch, who will be tasked with directing and overseeing the activities of the Credit team and management of all Credit functions on behalf of the organization. The position is expected to lead and develop a unified credit department while fostering relationships throughout the organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position is a key member of our Management team and is responsible for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of credit policies, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses. This role is in regular contact with Senior Management and is an integral part of the organization’s financial viability and strategic plan.
This position oversees the Credit team and is responsible for ensuring that customers and potential customers are properly scrutinized, analyzed and assessed in order to effectively partner with them. The role requires a substantial degree of tact and diplomacy when dealing with multiple customer’s, both internal and external to the organization. The position must be a subject matter expert and possess an elevated level of technical comprehension of Credit terminology, practices and reporting, coupled with a sound ability to build and establish rapport with customers from a variety of industries and backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of
- A completion of an Accounting or Business diploma or degree
- A Credit designation from a recognized Program (CPP)
- Commissioner of Oaths considered an asset
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as Credit Manager for a large organization in related industry
