The Role

Edmonton Kenworth Ltd. is looking for a Chief Financial Officer who plans, organizes, directs, controls and evaluates the financial, accounting and treasury functions of Edmonton Kenworth Ltd. through the operation of the Finance and Accounting Departments.  The CFO will develop and implement the corporate financial policies and systems, remain consistent with generally accepted accounting principles and financial practices, and in accordance to all legislations and jurisdictions for full compliance. The CFO ensures that appropriate financial and non-financial risk management practices and policies are in place and adhered to.  The CFO establishes standards and prepares various financial reports for the executive and senior managers as required.  The CFO is also responsible for all treasury requirements including international transactions. The CFO functions as a member of the Executive management team, under the direction of the President and Vice President/General Manager. As a member of the Executive leadership team, the CFO is tasked with providing support to the entire organization as it relates to fiscal responsibility, risk management analyses and ROI.  The CFO provides strategic and day to day oversight of the following departments: Accounting, including A/P, Credit department (A/R), and Information Technology.


  • Provide fiscal oversight in an effort to mitigate risk, and strategically advance organizational objectives
  • Provide strategic oversight and management of the financial underwriting for the lease fleet operations
  • Provide direct management of the accounting, credit, information technology and finance functions
  • Direct policies, procedures and internal controls for areas under their scope of responsibility
  • Provide organizational fiscal oversight to short, medium and long-term objectives of the organization
  • Direct systems and procedures to ensure the integrity of a company’s financial information
  • Manage or oversee the relationship with external accounting, legal, banking, and insurance providers
  • Collaborate with the Executive group and Provide strategic direction to the operation of the company
  • Oversee financial and operational systems implementations and upgrades
  • The candidate is responsible for all facets of Foreign Currency Exchange management
  • The candidate must maintain and foster important relationships with manufacturers, corporate Banking partnerships, other financial and insurance underwriters
  • Identify and manage business risks and compliance with all corporate insurance requirements


The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of

  • A completion of a master’s degree in Business Administration, and/or a professional accreditation such as the Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • A minimum of 10 years in accounting or finance, including a minimum of 5 years in a Senior management role
  • Must demonstrate experience in Foreign Currency Exchange management, Cash Management, Credit Management, Information Technology Management, Financial Accounting and Corporate Finance Competence
  • Previous exposure to the Heavy-Duty Equipment dealer industry considered an asset
